Cosmogony and Ikshvaku Genealogy as Counsel to Rama
नानावृष्टिर्बभूवास्मिन्नदुर्भिक्षं सतां वरे।अनरण्ये महाराजे तस्करो नापि कश्चन।।।।
nānāvṛṣṭir babhūvāsmin na durbhikṣaṃ satāṃ vare |
anaraṇye mahārāje taskaro nāpi kaścana ||
ఈ రాజ్యంలో సత్పురుషులలో శ్రేష్ఠుడైన మహారాజు అనరణ్యుడు పాలించుచుండగా అనావృష్టి లేదు, దుర్భిక్షం లేదు; ఒక్క దొంగ కూడా ఉండలేదు।
When Anaranya, the best of the virtuous, was ruling the kingdom, there was no drought, no famine and not even a thief (in his kingdom).
Rajadharma: righteous governance manifests as social security and natural well-being—order, honesty, and abundance are signs of dhārmic rule.
A lineage/royal exemplum is being recounted to highlight how virtue in rulers sustains the kingdom’s welfare.
Anaraṇya’s righteousness as king—his virtue is portrayed as producing public safety and prosperity.
