सोमेनैव भवेद्राजन्किंकृतैर्व्रतकोटिभिः । नवम्यामुदयात्किंचित्सोमे सापि बुधेऽपि च
somenaiva bhavedrājankiṃkṛtairvratakoṭibhiḥ | navamyāmudayātkiṃcitsome sāpi budhe'pi ca
ఓ రాజా! కేవలం సోముడు (చంద్రుడు) వలననే సిద్ధి కలుగుతుంది; కోట్ల వ్రతాలు చేసి ఏమి ప్రయోజనం? నవమీ ఉదయమైన తరువాత లభించే స్వల్ప పుణ్యమూ సోమునివలననే వస్తుంది; అదే ఫలం బుధవారంలో కూడా లభిస్తుంది.
