The Description of Mārkaṇḍeya
ऋतुर्मासद्वयेन स्यात्तत्त्रयेणायनं स्मृतम् । तद्द्वयेन भवेदब्दः स देवानां दिनं भवेत् ॥ २४ ॥
ṛturmāsadvayena syāttattrayeṇāyanaṃ smṛtam | taddvayena bhavedabdaḥ sa devānāṃ dinaṃ bhavet || 24 ||
రెండు నెలలతో ఋతువు అవుతుంది; అటువంటి మూడు ఋతువులతో అయనం (అర్ధవర్షం) అని స్మరించబడుతుంది. రెండు అయనాలతో సంవత్సరం అవుతుంది; అదే దేవతల ఒక దినముగా భావించబడుతుంది॥२४॥
