Gṛhastha-nitya-karman: Śauca, Sandhyā-vidhi, Pañca-yajña, and Āśrama-krama

शौचं तु द्विविधं प्रोक्तं ब्राह्ममाभ्यंतरं तथा । मृज्जलाभ्यां बहिः शुद्धिर्भावशुद्धिस्तथांतरम् ॥ ९ ॥

śaucaṃ tu dvividhaṃ proktaṃ brāhmamābhyaṃtaraṃ tathā | mṛjjalābhyāṃ bahiḥ śuddhirbhāvaśuddhistathāṃtaram || 9 ||

శౌచం రెండు విధములని చెప్పబడెను—బాహ్యము, ఆభ్యంతరము; ఇది బ్రాహ్మ (ఆధ్యాత్మిక) నియమము. మృత్తికా-జలములతో బాహ్య శుద్ధి, భావశుద్ధియే అంతఃశుద్ధి॥
