आर्षं धर्मं ब्रुवाणो ऽहं देवयानि यथा त्वया शप्तुं नार्हो ऽस्मि कल्याणि कामतो ऽद्य च धर्मतः //

Transliteration

ārṣaṃ dharmaṃ bruvāṇo 'haṃ devayāni yathā tvayā śaptuṃ nārho 'smi kalyāṇi kāmato 'dya ca dharmataḥ //

Translation

ఓ దేవయానీ, నేను ఋషులు బోధించిన ధర్మాన్ని పలికేవాడను; కాబట్టి, కల్యాణీ, నీవు నన్ను శపించినట్లుగా నేను నిన్ను శపించుటకు అర్హుడను కాను—ఈ రోజు కోరికవశంగా కాదు, ధర్మం పేరుతో కూడా కాదు.
