ततो ब्रह्मात्मसम्भूतं पूर्वं स्वायम्भुवं प्रभुः ।

आत्मनः सदृशं कृत्वा प्रजापालो मनुं द्विज ॥

tato brahmātmasambhūtaṃ pūrvaṃ svāyambhuvaṃ prabhuḥ | ātmanaḥ sadṛśaṃ kṛtvā prajāpālo manuṃ dvija ||

అనంతరం ఆ భగవంతుడు బ్రహ్ముని స్వాత్మ నుండి జన్మించిన స్వాయంభువ మనువును సృష్టించాడు; తనతో సమానంగా చేసి—ఓ ద్విజా, మనువు ప్రజల రక్షకుడు, ప్రాణుల అధిపతి।
