Adhyaya 23 — Ashvatara’s Vow for Madalasa and the Bestowal of Musical Science by Sarasvati
जीवितं गुणिनः श्लाघ्यं जीवान्नेव मृतोऽगुणः ।
गुणवान् निर्वृतिं पित्रोः शत्रूणां हृदयज्वरम् ॥
jīvitaṃ guṇinaḥ ślāghyaṃ jīvanneva mṛto 'guṇaḥ | guṇavān nirvṛtiṃ pitroḥ śatrūṇāṃ hṛdaya-jvaram ||
సజ్జనుల జీవితం ప్రశంసనీయం; దుర్జనుడు జీవించి ఉన్నా మృతసమానుడు. సద్గుణవంతుడు తల్లిదండ్రులకు ఆనందం కలిగించి, శత్రువుల హృదయాల్లో జ్వరాన్ని పుట్టిస్తాడు.
