Adhyaya 14The Messenger of Yama Explains Karmic Retribution and the Causes of Naraka Torments

अपविद्धास्तु यैर्वेदा वह्नयश्चाहिताग्निभिः ।

त इमे शालशृङ्गाग्रात् पात्यन्तेऽधः पुनः पुनः ॥

apaviddhās tu yair vedā vahnayaś cāhitāgnibhiḥ | ta ime śālaśṛṅgāgrāt pātyante 'dhaḥ punaḥ punaḥ ||

వేదాలను విస్మరించినవారు, పవిత్ర అగ్నులను నిర్లక్ష్యం చేసినవారు—దీక్షిత అగ్నులను పోషించేవారైనా—శాలవృక్షపు కొమ్ము వంటి శిఖరాగ్రం నుండి మళ్లీ మళ్లీ కిందకు పడవేయబడతారు।
