prahasann iva kaunteya rāmo vacanam atravīt | kṛtakāla hi rājendra dhanur etan mayā vibho
The verse highlights the ethical importance of kāla—acting and preparing tools or duties at the proper time. Competence and power are framed as legitimate when aligned with timely, appropriate action rather than impulse.
Lomaśa narrates a scene in which Rāma, smiling, addresses a Pāṇḍava (Kaunteya) and a kingly figure, declaring that the bow in question was made by him at the right time—asserting authorship and the bow’s purposeful, timely preparation.
