Educational Q&A

Rule-guided devotion (yathāvidhi arcana) at a sacred shrine is presented as dharmic conduct that generates merit: it prevents spiritual/moral downfall (durgati) and leads to honor in heaven (svarga).

A speaker praises the fruit of visiting the sacred place of Bhadrakarṇeśvara and worshipping the deity properly, describing the promised benefit—freedom from misfortune and heavenly honor—as part of a broader tīrtha-mahātmya (glorification of pilgrimage sites) context in the Vana Parva.
