Sudeva Identifies Damayantī in Cedi (सुदेवेन दमयन्ती-परिचयः)
जनेन क्लिश्यते बाला दुःखिता शरणार्थिनी । तादग् रूप॑ च पश्यामि विद्योतयति मे गृहम्,“इसे लोग तंग कर रहे हैं। यह दु:खिनी युवती कोई आश्रय चाहती है। मुझे इसका रूप ऐसा दिखायी देता है, जो मेरे घरको प्रकाशित कर देगा
Bṛhadāśva uvāca — janena kliśyate bālā duḥkhitā śaraṇārthinī | tādṛg rūpaṃ ca paśyāmi vidyotayati me gṛham ||
“జనం ఈ బాలికను వేధిస్తున్నారు; ఆమె దుఃఖితురాలు, శరణార్థిని. ఆమె రూపంలో నాకు అటువంటి కాంతి కనిపిస్తోంది—అది నా గృహాన్ని ప్రకాశింపజేస్తుంది.”
