Ṛśyaśṛṅgopākhyāna-praveśaḥ — Lomāśa narrates the origins of Ṛśyaśṛṅga and the Anga drought (ऋश्यशृङ्गोपाख्यान-प्रवेशः)

dhanaṃ ca pradadau bhūri ratnāni vividhāni ca | tato rūpeṇa sampannā vayasā ca mahīpate | striya ādāya kāścit sā jagāma vanam ajjasā ||

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how wealth and external charms (beauty and youth) can be marshaled as instruments to achieve an end; ethically, it invites reflection on the power of material inducements and appearances to influence actions and outcomes.

A woman gives abundant wealth and assorted jewels, then—adorned with beauty and youth—takes some women with her and quickly proceeds toward the forest, marking a decisive movement in the story’s action.
