Āraṇyaka-parva, Adhyāya 1 — The Pandavas’ Exit from Gajasāhvaya and the Citizens’ Lament (जनमेजयप्रश्नः; पाण्डवानां वनप्रस्थानम्)

एतद्धि मम कार्याणां परम॑ हृदि संस्थितम्‌ । कृता तेन तु तुष्टिमें सत्कारश्न भविष्यति,मेरे हृदयमें स्थित सब कार्योमें यही कार्य सबसे उत्तम है, आपके द्वारा इसके किये जानेपर मुझे महान्‌ संतोष प्राप्त होगा और इसीसे मेरा सत्कार भी हो जायगा

etaddhi mama kāryāṇāṁ paramaṁ hṛdi saṁsthitam | kṛtā tena tu tuṣṭir me satkāraś ca bhaviṣyati ||

నిజంగా నా హృదయంలో ఉన్న అన్ని కార్యాలలో ఇదే అత్యుత్తమం. మీరు దీనిని సాధిస్తే నాకు మహా సంతృప్తి కలుగుతుంది; దీనివల్ల నా గౌరవం, సత్కారమూ స్థిరపడతాయి.
