Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 5 — Karmaphala-Nirdeśa and Phalāśruti (कर्मफलनिर्देशः फलश्रुतिश्च)
हर्षस्थानसहस्राणि भयस्थानशतानि च । दिवसे दिवसे मूढमाविशन्ति न पण्डितम्
harṣasthānasahasrāṇi bhayasthānaśatāni ca | divase divase mūḍham āviśanti na paṇḍitam ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—రోజు రోజుకూ మూర్ఖుణ్ని ఆనందానికి వేల కారణాలు, భయానికి వంద కారణాలు ఆక్రమిస్తాయి; కాని అవి పండితుణ్ని జయించలేవు।
