निमन्त्रयीत सान्त्वेन सम्मानेन तितिक्षया | लोकाराधनमित्येतत्‌ कर्तव्यं भूतिमिच्छता

Transliteration

nimantrayīta sāntvena sammānena titikṣayā | lokārādhanam ity etat kartavyaṁ bhūtim icchatā ||

Translation

భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఐశ్వర్యాన్ని కోరే రాజు సాంత్వనతో కూడిన మధురవాక్యాలు పలుకుతూ, గౌరవం చూపుతూ, సహనంతో ఉండి ప్రజలను తన సమీపానికి ఆహ్వానించాలి. ఇదే ‘లోకారాధన’—అంటే ప్రజల మనస్సు గెలుచుకోవడం; అభ్యుదయాన్ని కోరేవాడు ఇది తప్పక ఆచరించాలి.
