मूर्थ्नि स्थितममित्राणां जीवतामेव संजय । दत्ता दाया यथाशक्ति मित्राणां च प्रियं कृतम्
mūrdhni sthitam amitrāṇāṃ jīvatām eva saṃjaya | dattā dāyā yathāśakti mitrāṇāṃ ca priyaṃ kṛtam ||
సంజయుడు అన్నాడు—ఓ సంజయా, శత్రువులు జీవించి ఉన్నప్పుడే నేను వారి శిరస్సుపై నిలిచినవాడినై—అంటే వారిపై ఆధిపత్యం చెలాయించాను. నా శక్తి మేరకు వాటాలు, దానాలు ఇచ్చాను; మిత్రులకు కూడా ప్రీతికరమైన కార్యాలు చేశాను.
