Educational Q&A

The verse highlights ordered service under rightful authority: even powerful beings align themselves in disciplined attendance when a leader is divinely affirmed. Ethical force here is the ideal of loyalty and delegated duty—strength becomes meaningful when placed in service of a sanctioned purpose.

Vaiśampāyana describes a celestial scene in which the Sun-god, pleased, assigns his two radiant attendants—Subhrāja and Bhāsvara—to serve Kārtikeya. Kārtikeya is depicted as surrounded by major divine groups (Rudras, Vasus, Ādityas, and the Aśvins), emphasizing his elevated, commander-like status.
