अभिमन्यु-परिवेष्टनम्
Encirclement and Counterassault of Abhimanyu
ते विंशतिपदे यत्ता: सम्प्रहारं प्रचक्रिरे । आसीद् गाज् इवावर्तो मुहूर्तमुदधाविव,अभिमन्यु बीस पग ही आगे बढ़े थे कि सामना करनेके लिये उद्यत हुए द्रोणाचार्य आदि योद्धा उनपर प्रहार करने लगे। उस समय उस सैन्यसागरमें अभिमन्युके प्रवेश करनेसे दो घड़ीतक सेनाकी वही दशा रही, जैसी कि समुद्रमें गंगाकी भँवरोंसे युक्त जलराशिके मिलनेसे होती है
te viṁśatipade yattāḥ samprahāraṁ pracakrire | āsīd gāṅgā ivāvarto muhūrtam udadhāv iva ||
సంజయుడు పలికెను—అభిమన్యుడు ఇరవై అడుగులు ముందుకు సాగగానే, ద్రోణాచార్యుడు మొదలైన యోధులు ఎదుర్కొనుటకు సిద్ధమై అతనిపై దాడులు ప్రారంభించారు. అతని ప్రవేశంతో ఆ సైన్యసముద్రం కొంతసేపు గంగానదీ భ్రమరజలాలు సముద్రంలో కలిసినప్పుడు కలిగే కలకలంలా కలవరపడెను।
