यदत्रानन्तरं कार्य प्राप्तकालं च पश्यसि । कर्णस्य वधसंयुक्तं तत्‌ कुरुष्व धनंजय,“धनंजय! अब यहाँ कर्णके वधके सम्बन्धमें तुम्हें जो समयोचित कर्तव्य दिखायी देता हो, उसे करो”

sañjaya uvāca |

yad atrānantaraṃ kāryaṃ prāptakālaṃ ca paśyasi |

karṇasya vadhasaṃyuktaṃ tat kuruṣva dhanaṃjaya ||

హే ధనంజయా! ఇక్కడ ఇప్పుడు నీకు తక్షణం చేయవలసిన, కాలోచితమైన కర్తవ్యమేదైనా కనిపిస్తే—ప్రత్యేకంగా కర్ణవధంతో సంబంధమున్నది—అదే ఇప్పుడే చేయి।
