Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how public praise and collective acclaim (“sādhu sādhu”) function as moral-psychological fuel in battle: valor is celebrated, courage is reinforced, and warriors are rallied—yet the setting reminds the listener that even admired heroism unfolds within the heavy ethical tension of fratricidal war.

Sañjaya reports to the king that ten leading warriors from both sides—Kuru and Pāṇḍava—shouted approval and then gave a powerful lion-like battle-cry, signaling heightened momentum and readiness as the conflict intensifies.
