कर्मयोग–ज्ञानयज्ञ–अवतारोपदेश

सम्बन्ध-- आत्माका स्वरूप दुर्विज्ञेग होनेके कारण पुनः तीन श*लोकॉद्वारा प्रकारान्‍्तरसे उसकी नित्यता, नियाकारता और निर्विकारताका प्रतिपादन करते हुए उसके विनाशकी आशंकासे शोक करना अनुचित सिद्ध करते हैं-- नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावक: । न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुत:,इस आत्माको शस्त्र नहीं काट सकते, इसको आग नहीं जला सकती, इसको जल नहीं गला सकता और वायु नहीं सुखा सकता

na enaṁ chindanti śastrāṇi na enaṁ dahati pāvakaḥ | na ca enaṁ kledayanty āpo na śoṣayati mārutaḥ ||

శస్త్రాలు ఈ ఆత్మను కోయలేవు, అగ్ని దీనిని కాల్చలేడు; నీరు దీనిని తడిపి కరిగించలేడు, గాలి దీనిని ఎండబెట్టలేడు।

Educational Q&A

The ātman is indestructible and unaffected by physical forces—weapon, fire, water, or wind—so fear and grief based on the idea that the true Self can be destroyed are unfounded.

Sañjaya narrates Kṛṣṇa’s instruction to Arjuna on the battlefield: to dispel Arjuna’s sorrow and hesitation by affirming the Self’s invulnerability, thereby supporting resolute action in accordance with dharma.
