Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
रौद्रे लोहितमित्याहुलोहितात् कनकं स्मृतम् । तन्मैत्रमिति विज्ञेयं धूमाच्च वसव: स्मृता:
raudre lohitam ity āhur lohitāt kanakaṃ smṛtam | tan maitram iti vijñeyaṃ dhūmāc ca vasavaḥ smṛtāḥ ||
వసిష్ఠుడు అన్నాడు—రౌద్ర స్వరూపంలో అది ‘లోహిత’ అని పిలువబడుతుంది; ఆ లోహితం నుండి ‘కనకం’ (బంగారం) పుట్టిందని స్మృతి చెబుతుంది. ఆ కనకాన్ని ‘మైత్రం’—మిత్ర తత్త్వానికి సంబంధించినదిగా—తెలుసుకోవాలి; ధూమం నుండి వసువుల ఉద్భవం చెప్పబడింది.
