Cyavana–Kuśika Dialogue on Lineage, Conflict, and Transmission
युधिष्ठिरने पूछा--पितामह! च्यवन मुनिके अन्तर्धान हो जानेपर राजा कुशिक और उनकी महान् सौभाग्यशालिनी पत्नीने क्या किया? यह मुझे बताइये ।। भीष्म उवाच अदृष्टवा स महीपालस्तमृषिं सह भार्यया । परिश्रान्तो निववृते व्रीडितो नष्टचेतन:,भीष्मजीने कहा--राजन्! पत्नीसहित भूपालने बहुत ढूँढ़नेपर भी जब ऋषिको नहीं देखा तब वे थककर लौट आये। उस समय उन्हें बड़ा संकोच हो रहा था। वे अचेत-से हो गये थे

adṛṣṭvā sa mahīpālas tam ṛṣiṃ saha bhāryayā |
pariśrānto nivavṛte vrīḍito naṣṭacetanaḥ ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—రాజా! భార్యతో కలిసి ఎంత వెదికినా ఆ ఋషిని చూడలేక, ఆ భూపతి అలసిపోయి తిరిగి వచ్చాడు. లజ్జా మరియు ఆత్మనిందతో అతడు చైతన్యహీనుడైనట్లయ్యాడు।
