अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
यच्चैतत् परमं ब्रह्म यच्च तत् परमं पदम् । या गति: सांख्ययोगानां स भवान् नात्र संशय:,जो यह परम ब्रह्म है, जो वह परमपद है तथा जो सांख्यवेत्ताओं और योगियोंकी गति है, वह आप ही हैं--इसमें संशय नहीं है
yac caitat paramaṃ brahma yac ca tat paramaṃ padam | yā gatiḥ sāṅkhyayogānāṃ sa bhavān nātra saṃśayaḥ ||
వాయుదేవుడు పలికెను— ఏది పరబ్రహ్మమో, ఏది పరమపదమో, సాంఖ్యవేత్తలకూ యోగులకూ గమ్యమైన ఆ గతి ఏదో—అది నీవే; ఇందులో సందేహం లేదు.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse identifies the addressed deity/person as the very Supreme Reality: the highest Brahman, the supreme state, and the final goal sought through both knowledge (Sāṅkhya) and disciplined practice (Yoga). It teaches that diverse spiritual paths culminate in the same ultimate principle.
Vāyu-deva is speaking in a laudatory, declarative mode, affirming with certainty that the one being addressed embodies the supreme metaphysical goal. The statement functions as a stuti (praise) that elevates the listener’s understanding of the figure’s cosmic and ethical significance.
