सत्त्ववान् सात्त्विक: सत्य: सत्यधर्मपरायण: । अभिप्राय: प्रियाहों5र्ह: प्रियकृत् प्रीतिवर्धन:
sattvavān sāttvikaḥ satyaḥ satyadharmaparāyaṇaḥ | abhiprāyaḥ priyāhaḥ arhaḥ priyakṛt prītivardhanaḥ ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఆయన సత్త్వవంతుడు, సాత్త్విక స్వభావుడు; ఆయన సత్యమే—సత్యభాషి, సత్యధర్మపరాయణుడు. ఆయన ప్రేమికుల అభిప్రాయం—పరమ ఇష్టుడు; అత్యంత ప్రియమైనదాన్ని అర్పించుటకు యోగ్యుడు; సమస్తులకు అర్హుడు—పరమ పూజ్యుడు; భక్తులకు ప్రియమును కలిగించువాడు; ప్రేమించువారి ప్రీతిని వర్ధింపజేయువాడు।
