Educational Q&A

This verse functions as a framing device: it establishes Bhrigu’s spiritual authority (as foremost among Brahman-knowers) and the respectful setting (approaching Agastya in his hermitage), preparing the listener to treat the forthcoming counsel as dharmic and reliable.

Bhishma narrates that the sage Bhrigu arrives at Agastya’s hermitage, approaches him while he is seated there, and begins to speak—introducing a sage-to-sage instruction sequence.
