शमीक उवाच
The verse teaches that mental restraint (śama) and forgiveness (kṣamā) are decisive virtues for spiritual success: they lead to siddhi for disciplined seekers and bring welfare in both this life and the next.
Śamīka is speaking in a didactic tone, emphasizing ethical discipline—especially self-control and forgiveness—as guiding principles, framing them as the foundation of well-being and spiritual accomplishment.
