बक-राक्षसस्य आह्वानम् तथा वृक्षयुद्धम्
Summons of Baka and the Tree-Weapon Engagement
ते श्रमेण च कौरव्यास्तृष्णया च प्रपीडिता: । नाशवनुवंस्तदा गन्तुं निद्रया च प्रवृद्धया,वे कुरुकुलरत्न पाण्डव उस समय अधिक परिश्रम और प्यासके कारण बहुत कष्ट पा रहे थे। थकावटसे उनकी नींद भी बहुत बढ़ गयी थी, जिससे पीड़ित होकर वे आगे जानेमें असमर्थ हो गये
te śrameṇa ca kauravyās tṛṣṇayā ca prapīḍitāḥ | nāśaknuvan tadā gantuṃ nidrayā ca pravṛddhayā ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—కౌరవులైన పాండవులు ఆ సమయంలో శ్రమతోను దాహంతోను బాగా బాధపడుచుండిరి. వారు ఇక ముందుకు సాగలేకపోయిరి; అలసటవల్ల పెరిగిన నిద్ర వారిని కమ్ముకొని, వారు అశక్తులై అక్కడే నిలిచిరి।
