श्रीकृष्ण उवाच भगवन् द्रष्टुमिच्छामि गिरीशं कृत्तिवाससम् / संप्राप्तो भवतः स्थानं भगवद्दर्शनोत्सुकः
śrīkṛṣṇa uvāca bhagavan draṣṭumicchāmi girīśaṃ kṛttivāsasam / saṃprāpto bhavataḥ sthānaṃ bhagavaddarśanotsukaḥ
శ్రీకృష్ణుడు పలికెను—హే భగవన్, కృత్తివాసమును ధరించిన గిరీశుని దర్శించదలచితిని. భగవద్దర్శనానికి ఉత్సుకుడనై నేను మీ స్థానానికి వచ్చితిని.

Indirectly, it presents the spiritual aim as “bhagavad-darśana”—the direct apprehension of the Divine—implying that realization is not merely conceptual but experiential, aligned with Purāṇic yoga-bhakti ideals.
This verse foregrounds darśana as a yogic orientation: single-pointed longing (utsukatā) toward the Lord. In Kurma Purana’s broader teaching arc, such focused devotion supports inner purification that complements Pāśupata and other yoga disciplines.
By Śrī Kṛṣṇa himself seeking Śiva (Girīśa) with reverence, the verse models Hari–Hara harmony: devotion to one does not negate the other, reflecting the Kurma Purana’s integrative Shaiva–Vaishnava theology.
