FAQs

This verse is genealogical rather than metaphysical; it supports the Purāṇic aim of preserving dharmic memory through lineages, which later frames teachings on dharma and liberation in the Kurma Purana.

No specific yoga practice is taught in this verse; it functions as dynastic context. In the Kurma Purana, such lineage sections often precede or anchor later dharma and yoga instruction (including Pāśupata-oriented themes).

It does not directly address Śiva–Viṣṇu unity; it is a neutral genealogical statement. The Kurma Purana’s synthesis appears more explicitly in its doctrinal chapters rather than in this lineage listing.
