मेधामहं प्रथमां ब्रह्मण्वतीं ब्रह्मजूतामृषिष्टुताम्। प्रपीतां ब्रह्मचारिभिर्देवानामवसे हुवे

IAST Transliteration

medhā́m aháṃ prathamā́ṃ brahmaṇvatī́ṃ brahmajū́tām ṛ́ṣi-stutām | prápītāṃ brahmacāríbhir devā́nām ávase huve ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Medhā I call—the first and foremost—rich in brahman, driven on by brahman, lauded of the seers; yea, Medhā well imbibed by the brahmacārins: her I invoke for the gods’ succour.

Translation

నేను మేధాను ఆహ్వానిస్తున్నాను—మొదటిదీ, శ్రేష్ఠమూ—బ్రహ్మంతో పరిపూర్ణమైనదీ, బ్రహ్మం చేత ప్రేరితమైనదీ, ఋషులచే స్తుతింపబడినదీ; ఇంకా బ్రహ్మచారులచే సుస్వీకృతమైన మేధాను—దేవుల సహాయార్థం నేను పిలుస్తున్నాను.
