Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Mantra","practical_application":"Consecration/installation sequence: wrap with mālā-mantras (kavaca-like encirclement), place on a consecrated brick (iṣṭakā), arrange in kūrma-pṛṣṭha formation, and recite with the Karāla aspect/formula for protective activation.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Mālā-mantra veṣṭana, iṣṭakā-sthāpana, kūrma-pṛṣṭha arrangement, Karāla recitation","lookup_keywords":["mala-mantra","ishtaka","kurma-prishtha","karala","pratishtha"],"quick_summary":"The verse gives a stepwise ritual protocol: encircle the implement with garland-mantras, install it on a consecrated brick, configure it in ‘tortoise-back’ order, and complete activation by reciting the Karāla formula/aspect."}

Concept: Protection is constructed through layered boundaries (mālā-mantra), stable bases (iṣṭakā), and correct spatial ordering (kūrma-pṛṣṭha), then ‘sealed’ by ugra recitation (Karāla).

Application: In protective rites, treat wrapping/encirclement, base placement, and formation as sequential ‘locks’; complete with the designated fierce recitation to finalize the protective field.

FAQs

It teaches a protective ritual sequence: encircle with mālā-mantras, place the empowered setup on a consecrated brick (iṣṭakā), arrange a kūrma-pṛṣṭha (stabilizing/guarding) formation, and complete recitation using the Karāla (fierce protective) formula/aspect.

It preserves highly technical procedural ritual details—mantra-encasement, ritual geometry/nyāsa (kūrma-pṛṣṭha), and specific recitation modes—showing the text’s coverage beyond mythology into applied liturgy and ritual engineering.

The encircling mantras and kūrma-style stabilization function as a rakṣā (spiritual safeguard), aiming to secure purity, prevent obstacles (vighna), and ensure the rite bears its intended merit (puṇya) without disruption.
