Related Themes: Agni Purana Sahitya/Vyākaraṇa-oriented synonym lists in the same khanda; Agni Purana procedural chapters (vrata/ritual/architecture) where proximity terms (samīpa/sannidhi) are operationally important
It imparts linguistic/lexicographic knowledge: precise Sanskrit synonyms and gradations of meaning for “whole/complete” and “near/proximity,” useful for correct usage in kavya (poetry), śāstra, and commentary.
Beyond ritual and theology, the Agni Purana catalogs technical vocabulary like a mini-lexicon, supporting disciplines such as grammar, poetics, and scholastic interpretation—hallmarks of its encyclopedic scope.
While not a direct ritual injunction, mastering precise śāstric language is traditionally viewed as supporting truthful recitation, accurate teaching, and correct scriptural understanding—indirectly aiding dharma through right knowledge (samyag-jñāna).
