FAQs

It gives a japa-style imperative mantra addressed to Varāha for pāpa-nāśana—destroying sin (pāpa) and its fruits (pāpa-phala), including lingering residual effects.

Alongside its many subjects, the Agni Purāṇa also preserves practical ritual technologies—short, targeted mantras used for purification and karmic remediation—showing its wide, applied scope.

The verse aims not only at removing wrongdoing (duṣṭa/pāpa) but also at neutralizing its karmic “fruit” (phala), i.e., the experienced results and remaining latent consequences.
