सर्वभूतदयालुश्च न प्रेतो जायते नरः ॥ देवातिथिषु पूजासु गुरुपूजासु नित्यशः
sarva-bhūta-dayāluś ca na preto jāyate naraḥ || devātithiṣu pūjāsu guru-pūjāsu nityaśaḥ
அனைத்து உயிர்களிடமும் கருணையுள்ளவன் பிரேதனாகப் பிறவான். தேவர்கள், விருந்தினர்கள் ஆகியோருக்கு மரியாதை-பூஜை செய்வதிலும், குருபூஜையிலும் எப்போதும் ஈடுபடுபவனும் பிரேதனாக மாட்டான்.
