न मया ब्राह्मणवधः कदाचिदपि कारितः ॥ केन दोषेण मे सिद्धं ब्रह्महत्याफलं महत् ॥

na mayā brāhmaṇavadhaḥ kadācid api kāritaḥ || kena doṣeṇa me siddhaṁ brahmahatyāphalaṁ mahat ||

‘நான் எப்போதும் பிராமணவதத்தைச் செய்யவோ செய்யவைக்கவோ இல்லை. அப்படியிருக்க, எந்தத் தவறால் எனக்கு பிராமணஹத்தி எனும் பெரிய பலன் ஏற்பட்டது?’
