varuṇena mahādevi taponirvighnahetave | pūjito jalajairbhaktyā jalavāsāstataḥ smṛtaḥ
Śiva (Īśvara)
Tirtha: Jalavāsa Gaṇapati (within Prabhāsa-kṣetra)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahādevī (Pārvatī)
Scene: Varuṇa, lord of waters, performs reverent pūjā to Gaṇapati using aquatic/water-born offerings; the deity is honored as ‘Jalavāsa’, with a watery aura suggesting sea/river sanctity of Prabhāsa.
Divine help for spiritual discipline (tapas) is gained through devotional worship; names of deities also preserve the sacred history of how they were honored.
The Jalavāsa Gaṇapati tradition situated in Prabhāsa-kṣetra.
Worship with jalaja (water-born) offerings performed with bhakti, aimed at nirvighna tapas (unobstructed practice).
