तत्र विष्णोस्तु सांनिध्ये वायव्ये कुम्भमुत्तमम् । भल्लतीर्थं तु विख्यातं यत्र भल्लहतो हरिः
tatra viṣṇostu sāṃnidhye vāyavye kumbhamuttamam | bhallatīrthaṃ tu vikhyātaṃ yatra bhallahato hariḥ
அங்கே விஷ்ணுவின் சன்னிதியில், வாயவ்ய (வடமேற்கு) திசையில் ஒரு சிறந்த கும்பம் உள்ளது. ஹரி (விஷ்ணு) பல்ல (அம்பு/வேல்முனை) கொண்டு தாக்கப்பட்ட இடமாதலால் அது ‘பல்லதீர்த்தம்’ எனப் புகழ்பெற்றது.
