ईश्वर उवाच । दक्षिणां दिशमास्थाय पुनः पश्चान्मुखी तदा । सरस्वती महादेवी वडवानलधारिणी । तदुत्तरे तटे तीर्थमेकद्वारमिति स्मृतम्
īśvara uvāca | dakṣiṇāṃ diśamāsthāya punaḥ paścānmukhī tadā | sarasvatī mahādevī vaḍavānaladhāriṇī | taduttare taṭe tīrthamekadvāramiti smṛtam
ஈஸ்வரன் உரைத்தான்—தென் திசையை நோக்கிச் சென்று, வடவானலத்தைத் தாங்கிய மகாதேவி சரஸ்வதி மீண்டும் மேற்கு நோக்கி முகம் திருப்பினாள். அவளது வடகரையில் ‘ஏகத்வார’ எனப் புகழ்பெற்ற தீர்த்தம் உள்ளது.
