गर्जंतं सोऽपि तं दृष्ट्वा प्रसर्पंतं च वीचिभिः । तामाह किमिदं भद्रे भीतो मे लवणोदधिः
garjaṃtaṃ so'pi taṃ dṛṣṭvā prasarpaṃtaṃ ca vīcibhiḥ | tāmāha kimidaṃ bhadre bhīto me lavaṇodadhiḥ
கர்ஜித்து அலைகளால் முன்னே பாயும் அந்தக் கடலைக் கண்டு அவன் தேவியிடம்— “பத்ரே, இது என்ன? இந்த உப்புக் கடல் என்னைக் கண்டு அஞ்சுவது போலிருக்கிறது” என்றான்.
