सर्वान्केशान्समुद्धृत्य च्छेदयेदंगुलद्वयम् । ततो देवान्विधानेन तर्प्पयेत्पितृदेवताः
sarvānkeśānsamuddhṛtya cchedayedaṃguladvayam | tato devānvidhānena tarppayetpitṛdevatāḥ
அனைத்து தலைமுடியையும் ஒன்றாகச் சேர்த்து இரண்டு விரல் அளவு நீளத்திற்கு வெட்ட வேண்டும். பின்னர் விதிப்படி தேவர்களுக்கும் பித்ரு தேவதைகளுக்கும் தர்ப்பணம் செய்ய வேண்டும்.
