हत्वा गावो वरं मांसं भक्षयीत द्विजाधमः । वरं जीवन्समं मत्स्यैर्न कुर्याद्वेदविक्रयम् । ब्रह्महत्यासमं पापं न भूतं न भविष्यति
hatvā gāvo varaṃ māṃsaṃ bhakṣayīta dvijādhamaḥ | varaṃ jīvansamaṃ matsyairna kuryādvedavikrayam | brahmahatyāsamaṃ pāpaṃ na bhūtaṃ na bhaviṣyati
தாழ்ந்த இருபிறப்பன் பசுக்களை கொன்று மாமிசம் உண்ணுவதும் மேல்; மீன்களைப் போல வாழ்வதும் மேல்—ஆனால் வேதத்தை விற்கக் கூடாது. இதற்கு ஒப்பான பிரம்மஹத்தி-சம பாவம் முன்பும் இல்லை, இனியும் இருக்காது.
