अष्टोत्तरशतैर्नाम्नां सम्यक्छ्रद्धासमन्वितः । शृणु तानि महादेवि शुचिर्भूत्वा समाहितः
aṣṭottaraśatairnāmnāṃ samyakchraddhāsamanvitaḥ | śṛṇu tāni mahādevi śucirbhūtvā samāhitaḥ
முறையான பக்தியுடன் அவன் அஷ்டோத்தர சத நாமங்களால் (சூரியனை)த் துதிக்கிறான். ஓ மகாதேவி, நீ தூய்மையடைந்து மனம் ஒருமுகப்படுத்தி அந்த நாமங்களை கேள்।
