Śiva (deduced from immediate context within Prabhāsa-kṣetra māhātmya)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra (Mūlasthāna)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Pilgrims stand before the radiant presiding Deva of Prabhāsa; a reciter reads the māhātmya to an attentive assembly; above them symbolic yajña fires dissolve into the deity’s aura, indicating ‘all-yajña fruit’ through darśana.
Darśana (beholding the deity) and śravaṇa (hearing sacred kathā) are exalted as direct means to gain yajña-like merit and remove sin.
Prabhāsa-kṣetra is the setting; the verse promotes pilgrimage-style devotion—seeing the deity of the place and hearing its māhātmya.
The prescriptions are darśana of the deity and śravaṇa of the māhātmya-kathā.
