एवं संजल्पमानास्ते शुश्रुवुः शब्दमुत्तमम् । वल्मीकमध्यतो व्यक्तं ततस्ते कौतुकान्विताः
evaṃ saṃjalpamānāste śuśruvuḥ śabdamuttamam | valmīkamadhyato vyaktaṃ tataste kautukānvitāḥ
இவ்வாறு அவர்கள் உரையாடிக் கொண்டிருக்கையில், எறும்புப் புற்றின் உள்ளிருந்து தெளிவாக எழும் ஒரு உயர்ந்த ஒலியை அவர்கள் கேட்டனர்; அப்போது அவர்கள் வியப்பும் ஆர்வமும் நிறைந்தனர்.
