तं दृष्ट्वा मानवो देवि मुच्यते पंचपातकैः । सार्द्धद्वादशहस्तं तु योजनत्रितयेन तु । न पश्यंति महादेवि पापिष्ठा ये तु मानवाः
taṃ dṛṣṭvā mānavo devi mucyate paṃcapātakaiḥ | sārddhadvādaśahastaṃ tu yojanatritayena tu | na paśyaṃti mahādevi pāpiṣṭhā ye tu mānavāḥ
ஓ தேவி, அதைத் தரிசித்த மனிதன் ஐந்து மகாபாதகங்களிலிருந்து விடுபடுகிறான். ஆனால் ஓ மகாதேவி, மிகப் பாவிகள் அதை காணமாட்டார்கள்—அது சாடே பன்னிரண்டு ஹஸ்த அளவாகவும், மூன்று யோஜனை வரையிலும் (தெரியக்கூடியதாகவும்) இருந்தாலும்।
