इत्युक्तास्ते तदा देवि विप्रलंभप्रधर्षिताः । प्रत्यब्रुवंस्तान्मुनयस्तच्छृणुष्व यथातथम्
ityuktāste tadā devi vipralaṃbhapradharṣitāḥ | pratyabruvaṃstānmunayastacchṛṇuṣva yathātatham
தேவி, இவ்வாறு கூறப்பட்டபோது பரிகாசமும் அவமதிப்பும் அவர்களைத் தூண்ட, முனிவர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழி கூறினர். இப்போது கேள்—நிகழ்ந்ததுபோலவே.
