सूर्य उवाच । मा ब्रह्मन्साहसं कार्षीर्वरं वरय सुव्रत । अप्राप्यमपि दास्यामि यत्ते मनसि वर्तते
sūrya uvāca | mā brahmansāhasaṃ kārṣīrvaraṃ varaya suvrata | aprāpyamapi dāsyāmi yatte manasi vartate
சூரியன் கூறினான்— ஓ பிராமணனே, அவசரத் துணிச்சல் செய்யாதே. ஓ நல்விரதனே, வரம் கேள்; அரிதானதாயினும் தருவேன்—உன் மனத்தில் இருப்பதையே।
