पितॄन्हत्वा सुमाली च तमाराधितवान्पुरा । सोऽपि मुक्तोऽभवद्देवि पापात्पितृवधोद्भवात्
pitṝnhatvā sumālī ca tamārādhitavānpurā | so'pi mukto'bhavaddevi pāpātpitṛvadhodbhavāt
சுமாலியும்—முன்னொரு காலத்தில் தன் பித்ருக்களை கொன்று—அவரையே (சிவனை) பக்தியுடன் ஆராதித்தான். தேவியே, பித்ருஹத்தையால் உண்டான பாவத்திலிருந்து அவனும் விடுபட்டான்।
