शिव उवाच । शृणु यत्कारणं तत्र तेषां तव तपस्विनाम् । व्रतचर्याप्तये विप्राः पूजयन्त्यधिकं हि ते
śiva uvāca | śṛṇu yatkāraṇaṃ tatra teṣāṃ tava tapasvinām | vratacaryāptaye viprāḥ pūjayantyadhikaṃ hi te
சிவன் கூறினான்—“அதற்கான காரணத்தை கேள்; அங்கே உள்ள அந்தத் தவசிகளைக் குறித்து. விரதாசாரத்தை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்காக அந்தப் பிராமணர்கள் உன்னைவிட அதிகமாகப் பூஜை செய்கிறார்கள்.”
